This striking piece features a 50cm diameter globe elevated on a sycamore dusk veneered stand with caps, brace detailing and a highly polished base in aluminium brass. The globe rests on three roller bearings, which allow for a fluid and unimpeded 360-degree motion.
The large orb is meticulously hand-painted using Sennelier watercolour pigment with a UV- and scratch-resistant resin coat. Honey is added to the pigment, giving the paint an incomparable brilliance and smoothness.
Based in Stoke Newington, Bellerby & Co. are artisan globemakers, whose founder Peter's unfulfilled search for the perfect globe to gift to his father resulted in the beginnings of the company.
