Amanda Bastin (B. 1967)

Amanda Bastin is a British artist based in London whose vibrant paintings celebrate the beauty and wonder of the natural world. Born into an artistic family of portrait painters, fashion illustrators and fine art restorers, her passion for painting was nurtured from an early age. Raised in Nottinghamshire amongst beautiful gardens and landscapes, she developed a deep connection to nature, colour and creativity that continues to inspire her work today.

After moving to London, Amanda pursued careers in fashion, interior and theatre design before establishing a successful 20-year career in property. Throughout this time, she continued to study oil painting, drawing and sculpture, eventually embracing her artistic practice full-time during the 2020 lockdown. Influenced by artists including David Hockney, Van Gogh, Monet, Matisse, Dufy and Berg, her work reflects a profound appreciation for nature's ability to inspire, heal and delight.

Working in oils with fresh, energising colours and dynamic brushwork, Amanda creates uplifting paintings that capture the enchantment, vitality and ever-changing beauty of the natural environment.
