Rob Wyn Yates (b. 1973)

Rob Wyn Yates' trademark style features geometric forms created through colour, contrast and shadow, bringing a sense of balance and progression to his work. Having been consistently immersed in the visual arts throughout his career, he studied 3D Design at Chelsea College of Art before working for many years as a restaurant interior designer. Following a move to Suffolk, he established an artist's studio in Framlingham, where he continues to live and work.

With a sharp eye for detail, Wyn Yates finds inspiration in the world around him, from the intricate balance of a bird's plumage to the shadows cast by buildings and the construction of garments. The strong colours, patterns and visual contradictions found in everyday life provide a constant source of inspiration, informing his distinctive and carefully composed paintings.
