Catherine Mauvisseau Bordin is a contemporary French sculptor. Her sculptures are inspired by animals or women. Catherine addresses classical and traditional themes, but she always leads her audience to reflection.
“My space quickly filled with gathered objects, sketches, and tools... I compiled and digested all that the outside world sent to me as information, sensations, and emotions, expressing these moments of introspection in pure forms."
She learned direct carving stone sculpture with Jean-Marie Meslin, attended the modelling workshop of Nadie Feuz, with Danièle Dekeyser, Michel Pigeon, Marie-Thérèse Tsalapatanis; as well as the workshops of sculptors Etienne and Martine Salavize. Additionally, she was part of the art workshop of painters Jocelyne Barbas and Georges Joussaume. Catherine lives and works between Paris , Île de Ré and Marrakesh.
