The design incorporates Macassar ebony, zebrano, oak, polished nickel bandings, dark stained walnut, faux ivory stringing and a hammered silver frieze.
The two table tops slide together and part while the bases remain fixed to the floor. The lumber is finished with a burnished resilient lacquer. Special consideration was given to minimising the weight of this piece by using a lightweight core, while ensuring that the two leaves remained stable at all times.
