Dancer - 2023
Material – Sapele
Dancer was carved from reclaimed sapele salvaged from an unusable fire pit destined for scrap. The subtle waves were inspired by the motion of rippling water giving the illusion of dancing and motion. The lines in the sculpture represent the ebbs and flows of life and remind us of the vast sea of possibilities and the ripples that our decisions make in life.
The sculpture was finished with a glossy varnish to bring out the vibrant brown in the Sapele.
