LINLEY

CARE INFORMATION

ACCESSORIES:

Wood:

Use the micro-fibre cloth to dust and clean your accessories. If any spillages occur then simply wipe clean with a damp cloth, acting promptly.

Use Brasso or silvo to keep any silver plaques from tarnishing.

Do not leave your product for prolonged periods of time in direct sunlight as this will accelerate the ageing process and will cause the timber to discolour or even crack and/or dry out.

Monitor the relative humidity in the room keeping it to the average of 45-50%. Extreme changes in humidity can cause shrinking/splitting.

Leather:

All our leather has been tanned specifically for each product and will have distinctive characteristics.

With general use, you may see colour changes and creases which are all natural features of leather. If your piece is subject to direct sunlight some fading might occur.

In the event of water spillages blot the leather immediately with a soft, absorbent cloth and leave to dry naturally.

Silver:

Fingerprints or light marks on any silver can be gently wiped away with a silver cloth.

We advise you to use a good quality silver polish to prevent tarnishing or to remove stubborn marks. Apply to the area with cotton wool, working in a circular motion until the tarnish or mark has been removed from the surface.

Lightly buff with a silver cloth to remove any polish residue to create a high sheen.

Crystalware:

Do not clean your crystal in the dishwasher or use abrasive or acidic agents. Hand wash only with a mild detergent and warm water and dry with a soft cloth.

Carefully handle, making sure to avoid surface scratching and chipping and avoid contact with hard and sharp objects.

FURNITURE & UPHOLSTERY:

WE RECOMMEND YOU DO…

First and foremost, use and enjoy your furniture!

Use a micro-fibre cloth to dust and clean your furniture.

Use a damp cloth to clean off any spillages or food, taking care to act promptly when they occur as even just 10 minutes is enough for a red wine or coffee stain to penetrate through the veneer and become permanent.

Plump and then vacuum your upholstery to stop the dust and dirt from working its way into the fabric.

Use Brasso or Silvo to polish the metal work on your furniture. This will prevent it from tarnishing. Take care however not to get it on the timber, if you do then wipe it off immediately.

Monitor the relative humidity in the room. This should be kept between 45% – 50%, regardless of the season. It is extremes of variation in humidity levels that can cause problems. This can be maintained by using a good humidifier.

PLEASE REFRAIN FROM…

Using silicone based cleaning agents or polishes on the surface.

Leaving your piece for prolonged periods in direct sunlight as this will accelerate the ageing process; light can cause timber to discolour or even to crack and/or dry out. Wood is a natural resource that is affected by the environment it is placed in.

Placing any hot or extremely cold plates or other items directly onto the surface of the furniture.

Sliding or dragging items across the surface of the furniture as this will cause scratches and dents.

Locating furniture or upholstery items directly under or in front of hot lamps, strong lighting, radiators, fireplaces or any other form of naked flame or heat source.
