Answering to the growing demand for bespoke fitted furniture, built and designed in Great Britain to a superlative quality, LINLEY  started specialising in fitted cabinetry. The fitted cabinetry division articulates the same values that have made LINLEY furniture internationally renowned. We interviewed the team to find out more about the department...

How long has LINLEY been designing fitted cabinetry? (Kitchen/Wine Room/Library) LINLEY has been designing furniture since its inception 30 years ago. Offering the capacity to provide LINLEY built in cabinetry has been a natural extension to the brand and its capabilities.

What is the most enjoyable part about working at LINLEY? To begin with, both LINLEY clients and projects are exceptional. Working within a team who understand the breadth of skills and materials that are available and seek to consistently attain the remarkable. This reaches out to and sets the bar for our workshops with whom we have a strong legacy connection, having worked with them for many years.   When designing LINLEY fitted cabinetry, where does your inspiration come from? Inspiration comes from the architecture of the building and the governing style of the clients. We work collaboratively taking elements from either or both areas and combine this with the strong LINLEY design DNA to achieve the very best results. Tell us about the LINLEY project you enjoyed working on the most? What was involved? We are mid-way through an installation in the countryside. The client has asked LINLEY to create a multifunctional space that combines cooking, entertaining, lap-top working and media-grazing.  The kitchen flows through to a social space with additional seating areas and media points.  The centrepiece will be the custom designed LINLEY Tectonic Cocktail Bar in dark grey eucalyptus, with a low table in the same style to complete the look.  To develop this space, we worked jointly with the client, their Project Manager and builders to remove existing walls, advise on flooring, lighting and final finishes.  The project has been a year in development and we can’t wait to see the final result.   Have any of the projects (Be it a Kitchen/Wine room/library) designed for LINLEY ever won any awards? We are thrilled to have recently won an award for a LINLEY Kitchen.  Chalet Skyfall, St Christoph, Austria won "Best Kitchen over £100,000" at the International Design and Architecture Awards 2014.   Click here to discover more about the luxurious Skyfall Chalet.

LINLEY Kitchen What sets a LINLEY project apart from others? (Be it a Kitchen/Wine room/library)  The qualities that differentiate us from others in the marketplace include: use of the finest materials, carefully selected workshops offering the best of British craft and finally, unique solutions to finishes and build-techniques. These contribute to the fact that each LINLEY project or piece carries with it a quantifiable ‘provenance’ that is a reflection of the heritage that we have been building at LINLEY over the past 30 years.   You can learn more about some of the LINLEY Fitted Furniture Projects on our website – Fitted Cabinetry
