For the second year running, LINLEY hosted its Bloggers Party, this years intimate event was attended by some of the most well known bloggers from the design and interior design world. As delicious canapés were served, drinks courtesy of Nyetimber, flowed throughout the night.
The schedule for the night included the opportunity to talk with the LINLEY Head of Design who discussed bespoke pieces of extraordinary furniture such as LIGHTSCAPE and the Tectonic Bar. A second treat was an interactive marquetry masterclass where a LINLEY craftsmen was specially bought in to teach the technique. A highly labour intensive skill, the bloggers were able to have a real life experience of what it would be like to be a LINLEY craftsman piecing together veneers by practicing on a snowflake which they were able to take home as a souvenir.
Being Christmas, it would have been silly not to have asked our guests about the festive season, so as well as asking about their views regarding the event, we also got the lowdown on Christmas plans this year, here is what some of our favourite bloggers had to say…
|“What a fantastic and intimate event, it is always a pleasure to meet with the incredible LINLEY team and see what new treasures they have to reveal. I have never been as shocked and impressed as I was when I discovered the Tectonic Bar. I honestly could have played with it for hours, discovering the hidden features and admiring the luxury finishes. I have decided to embrace the Christmas spirit this year, usually I am incredibly busy but I am going to use the time to celebrate with family and friends and of course add a touch of Christmas class to my house over the festive period” – Martyn White from Martyn White Designs|
|“It was a great event at LINLEY, we got the chance to see a master marquetry craftsman at work as well as being able to make our own Christmas decoration using marquetry. As always, it was lovely to catch up with the team from LINLEY as well as fellow bloggers Fabrice and Martyn. For Christmas this year, I’m heading to sunny South Africa to be with friends and family.” – Grant Pierrus from Interior Style Hunter|
|“I was thrilled to be invited by LINLEY to attend a special bloggers event where myself and some fellow interiors bloggers had sole access to the prestigious showroom for a couple of hours. NYETimber bubbles and tasty canapés in hand, we were treated to a private tour and demonstrations with some members of the technical team, the highlights being to see up close the levitating drinks tray of one of the LIGHTSCAPE pieces and of course the marquetrie workshop. It was a memorable event and we are all very grateful to have the support of LINLEY and to be collaborating with their wonderful team.”
“This Christmas, I will be spending the festive season in America. First in New York to catch up with friends and acquaintances of the design world, and of course some obligatory retail therapy, then onto South Carolina to surprise my family at Christmas, and then to New Jersey for a NYE party and birthday shenanigans. Hopefully it will be a white Christmas. Until then, A-Gent of Style has a ravishing marquetry Christmas star to look at. Merry Christmas, LINLEY.” – Fabrice Bana from A-Gent of Style
