Chelsea Flower Show 2017
Belgravia in Bloom
Last year LINLEY was the proud winner of the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society-judged award for the Best Floral Display in Belgravia, with a display which transformed our Pimlico Road showroom into a sweeping English willow. This year we hope to continue our winning streak with an ode to the English countryside.
Masters of Craftsmanship
LINLEY have taken their passion for nurturing the next generation of British craftsmen and craftswomen to the grounds of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show with the LINLEY Artisan Studio.
It takes roughly ten thousand hours of practice to achieve mastery in a chosen field. The LINLEY Artisan Studio celebrates the time it takes for craftsmen and women to become masters of their chosen art with a LINLEY master craftsman and student working at their bench throughout the week.
LINLEY Artisan Studio
The eight students were chosen from the best design colleges around the country and they came together to start their 10,000 hours in a beautiful 15th century thatched barn in Wiltshire. The artisan studio replicates the school, with traditional workbench and tools, with a teacher and student making a marquetry chair to be used on the Gingko stage.
LINLEY Summer School
Each year the LINLEY Summer School aims to bring Britsh Craftsmanship to the forefront with a week-long program at Messum’s Wiltshire, a tremendous Tithe Barn in Wiltshire.
The focus of the week-long event was to raise awareness of the importance of hands-on making courses and design education which in recent years has slowly started to deteriorate. Ten students, carefully selected from the leading furniture colleges in the country, were granted the opportunity to advance on a range of cabinet-making and marquetry skills from master craftsmen.
