David Linley - Chairman

As founder and Chairman of LINLEY, David Linley has achieved international renown for the designs and products which his company produces. David founded his business in 1985 focusing on the production of bespoke furniture for individual commissions.

David Linley's passion for the arts was nurtured at school in Bedales, which is renowned for its emphasis on arts and crafts. From 1980-82, he studied at Parnham House School for Craftsman in Wood. Three years after opening his own workshop in Dorking where he designed and made furniture, Linley set up David Linley Furniture Ltd., now known as Linley.

David has written numerous books and lectured around the world at venues including the V&A Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, the LA County Museum of Art, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago and many other leading American institutions. He has also lectured in Tokyo, Kyoto, Sydney and Geneva.

David Linley was appointed Chairman of Christie's UK in December 2006. In this role he is responsible for leading the Chairman's office in the United Kingdom, working with Christie's specialists on developing the business and client relationships both in the UK and internationally.

Craig Allen - Managing Director

Craig Allen spent three and a half years with Gucci as a Worldwide Product Director working in the areas of Home, Jewellery, Watches & Licensed Products. Prior to that he was the Buying Manager for The Conran Shops with special responsibility for furniture, having graduated in 1987 from the Royal College of Art. Craig joined LINLEY in 2000 as Creative and Commercial Director to support LINLEY's increasing development of its range of luxury home furnishings and lifestyle accessories. He was appointed Managing Director of the company in 2008.

Christina Macmillan - Marketing Director

Christina graduated from Bristol University in 1996 with a BA Honours degree in French. She then worked as a translator in Paris for Coopers & Lybrand and joined Halpern Associates PR Agency in 1997 until 2001 where she handled PR accounts mainly within the luxury fashion sphere. She joined LINLEY in 2001 as a freelance PR and was appointed Marketing Manager in 2002. She was appointed Marketing Director in June 2005.

 

Paul Bryan-Harris - Financial Director

After graduating from Leeds University with a BSc in Chemistry, Paul joined Deloitte and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997. Leaving Practice, Paul worked as an Internal Auditor at Courtaulds Chemicals - auditing manufacturing units of varying sizes in the UK and overseas. Paul moved to London to take up the position of Finance Manager of the e-commerce division of TSO Ltd (a significant publisher to the public sector), before joining Virgin Books Ltd (part of Richard Branson's Virgin Group) as Head of Finance in 2004. Paul was appointed Financial Director at Linley in May 2008.
