Year of the Dragon Desk

LINLEY’s Year of the Dragon Desk is constructed from ebonised walnut inlaid with rosewood, holly and satinwood. Gold plated cockbeads, stringing and capitals accentuate the piece which also features elegant Rosso marble set into the main body of the desk. The gallery sits atop 8 (lucky!) ebonised and turned legs.

The highlight of this piece is the resplendent dragon which has been recreated on the surface of the desk using intricate marquetry inlay in a variety of woods (marquetry being the meticulous discipline whereby different woods are laid onto a main substrate to form a pattern or picture). Two such dragons proudly flank the leather writing surface, perhaps guarding the treasure within….

A smaller version of this dragon has been created in gold plated brass and applied to the Rosso marble plaques. The desk also features a secret drawer towards the rear, released by an equally secret button hidden elsewhere within the piece.

为了庆祝龙年的到来，林利推出了一款独特而精致的家具以赞赏龙的威猛。

林利的龙年书桌由硬质核桃木打造并镶嵌以花梨木，冬青和缎木。镀金的抽屉把手，镶金边和镀金的金币装饰更是锦上添花。此外办公桌的主体还用优雅的罗索大理石装饰。书桌主体由八条（象征好运）优雅的硬木腿支撑。

这款家具最突出的卖点是书桌表面金碧辉煌的龙的图案，这是以精湛的镶嵌细工手法以各种小块木料拼出来的。（镶嵌细工的手法，是用各种不同的木材，在主基板上拼成的图案）。两条这样的龙威武地浮在书桌的真皮制造的书写表面，或许是在守护着里面的珍宝。

另外一种较小点的龙由镀金的黄铜制成，镶嵌在罗索大理石上。此外书桌的后部还设有一个暗抽屉，打开这个抽屉的秘密按钮藏在书桌的另外一个部位。
