Bespoke Bureau<p>The bureau has a fold down lid that opens to reveal the interior space which features sycamore and ripple sycamore inlay with Indian ebony stringing.</p> <p>Within the desk there are 9 drawers; 4 on each side and 1 central drawer.&nbsp; All drawer fronts are inlaid in sycamore with Indian ebony stringing.&nbsp; The drawers feature turned sycamore handles with Indian ebony caps and are lined in dark red velvet. The central drawer sits within a scalloped surround and is also lined in velvet. Above the central drawer there are two doors featuring marquetry of a Welsh dragon. The doors open on a secret catch and reveal a secret compartment inside with marquetry detailing a treasure chest on the rear panel.&nbsp; There are also letter holders on either side of the two doors.</p> <p>The lid folds down to reveal a leather lined surface with applied gilded tooling.&nbsp; On the desk surface there are two leather panels that open on a mechanism to reveal compartments within.&nbsp; These compartments are accessed by turning two faux handles which are located on the exterior of the desk.&nbsp; The right side compartment houses a secret drawer that opens on a push catch mechanism and reveals the initials S.H.A inlaid in Indian ebony, the left compartment houses another hidden compartment with a distinctive alabaster base and a further internal drawer depicting marquetry inlaid swords.</p> <p>The top part of the bureau features four traditionally constructed drawers with turned walnut handles inset with ebony caps; 2 on either side. Drawers are constructed with oak sides and cedar drawer bases.&nbsp; The central compartment is scalloped and houses two shelves.</p> <p>A gallery with Indian ebony balusters surmounts the bureau.</p>

A bespoke bureau traditionally constructed in solid American walnut with inlays of curl walnut and Indian ebony.
