The bureau has three secret compartments and fourteen drawers, some of which are lined in velvet.
The main components of the bureau are in stained walnut, Macassar ebony and ripple sycamore, which are enhanced by over twenty different veneers used in the marquetry inlay. A miniature silver plated statue of Mozart stands on the cornice.
On the front is a marquetry townscape of Salzburg in the 18th Century, where Mozart was born. Inside there is a marquetry portrait of Mozart and hidden Masonic symbols referencing his commentary on Freemasonry.
An iPod uploaded with the entire works of Mozart is concealed behind the central interior doors.
The cabinet now stands in the Hotel Fuschl in Saltzburg.
