This contemporary piece of extraordinary furniture allows the great intricacy and marvellous execution of Boulle work to stand out. Traditionally, Boulle work consisted of tortoiseshell, mother-of-pearl or bone with metal inlay. LINLEY has recreated this with panels of madrona burr, Indian ebony and nickel silver.
The commode has a black granite top and the central doors open to reveal traditionally constructed drawers inlaid with burr ash. The ten ebony turned handles have silver discs inset into the front. The outer doors open to reveal an adjustable shelf inside.
The commode is one of a pair.
