This interpretation of Andrea Palladio's architectural milestone, Villa Cornaro, is compartmentalized to hold jewellery, be-fittingly divided in the same modular formation as the room layout that characterized the harmonious interiors of his villas.
The portico is rendered on the jewellery box in turned sycamore columns with nickel plated brass Corinthian and Ionic detailing along the frieze.
The box contains two secret drawers on push catches and is adorned with intricate marquetry detailing used to represent the windows and stonework.
The roof opens on hinges to reveal a pull out tray and hidden recess for housing jewellery.
Referencing Palladio's provenance and drawing on the traditional skills of Venetto, a Murano glass bowl by Salviati is encased in the main drawer of the lower section.
