COMMISSIONING BESPOKE FURNITURE
A guide to commissioning bespoke furniture from LINLEY. If you have any questions, or would like to contact the Bespoke design team, please call us on +44(0) 20 7730 7300 or email linley@davidlinley.com.
DESIGN DISCUSSION - THE BRIEF
At either of our two shops, LINLEY Belgravia or LINLEY Mayfair, we will be delighted to show you examples of our work, introduce you to our design team and discuss your requirements in detail. Examples of previously commissioned pieces and samples such as woods, fabrics and leather are used to help visualise the initial concepts.

WORK BEGINS
To ensure continuity, you will be assigned a bespoke associate and designer who will work on the project from start to finish. If appropriate the team will undertake a site visit and following this we will agree the design brief and design fee with you. Using computer aided software, we will check and recheck the designs until they are consistent with the initial brief. Meanwhile, we will also establish costs, timber availability and the selection of craftsmen.

3D & LINE DRAWINGS
You will be presented with line drawings and a three dimensional colour computer simulation depicting a scaled version of your furniture showing proportions and shades of wood. These are supplemented by a quotation and samples of the proposed timbers. There will then be the opportunity to amend the proposed designs. Once the 3D drawings meet your approval, we will ask for a 50% deposit.
TECHNICAL DRAWING
Upon receipt of your deposit, we will evolve your design into a series of technical drawings which we will present to you for approval and sign off before production of furniture begins. These drawings will be used by the cabinetmaker as construction blueprints.

MAKING YOUR FURNITURE
We will supervise the production of all furniture to ensure that our superlative standards are observed from the careful selection of materials to the hand crafting of each individual piece. The process normally takes approximately twelve weeks from approval of the technical drawings.

DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION
Quality craftsmanship and diligent project management are supported by high installation standards. After receiving the final balance, we will arrange for your furniture to be delivered, unwrapped and installed by members of the LINLEY team. For all furniture being shipped abroad we can obtain a shipping quotation for approval and make the necessary arrangements.
